Psalm 19:7-11

One of my favorite scriptures, about scripture!
I hope this encourages you today.

Psalm 19:7-11
7 The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the LORD is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the LORD are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

SCMR for your kids? Why not!

In this picture you see my sisters 8 kids doing the video!
I've been amazed to see my 2.5yr old daughter pick up and memorize some of these scriptures. It's been great! Maybe you could use it for you kids' quiet time?

Also, sometimes I'll just play the video while I'm doing the dishes or folding laundry and use the audio. It's been helpful to use throughout the day to keep my breathing right and to keep me meditating and memorizing the scriptures. Many people have told me they use their's to help them fall asleep too.

A sample of the DVD.

Here is a 3 min. sample of the 25 minute DVD.
There are 3 light stretches at the beginning of the DVD which get you prepared for your relaxation/mediatation pose. This is not a work out video. It is a Scripture Centered Meditation and Relaxation routine.

*You may notice that Lisa is laying on her side (on the upper left ) this is because she is about 8 months pregnant. If you are doing this while pregnant please consult with your Dr. first. And lay on your side after your first trimester.

Thanks!!!

Physical pain and God's word

Psalm 119:50
This is my comfort in my affliction,that your promise gives me life.

Don't forget the DVD when you're in pain...

On the day this DVD was filmed, I was in intense physical pain. I was not feeling much strength to do the shoot, and a bit discouraged. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was -right then and there- in need of help and encouragement. Sure, the stretching and the deep breathing really helped physically, but the time in God’s word reminded me of my dependence on Him. It helped me to bring that present pain to the Lord as we laid there soaking in His word. Typically I would have reached for a Tylenol or a bath and as an afterthought, maybe I would have prayed (and I'm not saying pain relievers or baths are wrong). But having that intentional time to worship in the midst of the pain was... nice.

Do you know someone in the hospital? They could use this! All they would need to do is modify it for themselves, maybe just listening during the stretching parts at the beginning but using the remainder, as the majority of it is relaxation techniques and meditating on scripture.

I hope you find it encouraging in the difficult seasons as well as the good.
And please know that I'm not some lady out here whose life is wrapped in a "tidy video set of well-being" but I too am in need of someone outside of myself for help.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
   but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26

"Why christians Go Postal over FB, Jay Z, Yoga, Avatar and culture in general"...

Check out this great article by Pastor Mark Driscoll on TheResurgence.com

"Liberal syncretists tend to receive too much. Fundamental separatists tend to reject too much. So, while I would reject yoga because it is a Hindu worship act, it is possible for the Christian to redeem some of the exercise principles, as my friend, Rose, extols. Likewise, it’s not a sin to watch a film such as Avatar, enjoy the technological mastery, and learn about how to tell a great story. But, it is imperative for a Christian to not embrace the blatant pagan worldview that does not distinguish between Creator and creation, upon which the entire storyline of the film is constructed."

I love how he put this and I'm super thankful for the plug on my video! Please take a minute to read it.

Some fun ideas on how to use the video

Do you lead your own fitness class?
Maybe you have a regular women's group or a regular girls weekend with friends.
Do you have an annual church retreat you do?
You might consider using this as a focused time for a cool down in your routine or a time of R&R in those types of activities.
I've also heard from friends who like to use it with their husband/wife with a glass of wine to relax together. How nice.

Just some fun ideas on the different ways you can use it.
